1 Samuel 17: 26-54
This isn’t a question of who’s actually bigger. Of course, the answer is God.
But when you’re face-to-face with your own Goliath, what rises up in you—fear or faith?
David didn’t downplay the threat, but he refused to shrink God down to the size of his problem. When others ran in fear, David asked, “Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?”
David’s response shows us something deeper: he recognized that the battle wasn’t physical—it was spiritual. He saw the issue but didn’t magnify it. He magnified God.
When Saul told him the fight was too big, David remembered the victories God had already given him—lions and bears. He was confident: If God did it before, He’ll do it again.
And then he spoke to the giant: “You’re going to die today.” (Actually he said, "Today, I'll strike you down, remove your head, and give your corpses of the Philistine camp to the birds of the sky and the wild creatures of the earth.")
That’s not arrogance. That’s faith in action.
He declared the victory before he saw it—and gave God the glory from the start.

Journaling Prompt...
What “giant” are you facing today that’s trying to appear bigger than your God?
Write down 2–3 ways God has shown up for you in past battles.
Then, write a faith declaration you can speak over your current situation.

    Prayer
Lord, help me to face my giant issues the way David faced Goliath:
Knowing they are no match for You
Remembering how You’ve delivered me before
Standing confidently in the calling You’ve prepared me for
Speaking boldly to my problems in faith
Seeing the victory You’re about to hand me
Finishing the work so You get the glory
There is nothing too big for You. I thank You for that.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
